CASE STUDY 1
Terrance McGeorge is a homosexual. Terrance McGeorge was raised in a family with a gay parent. His father came out that he was Gay when he was six years old and left Terrance’s mother shortly afterwards. Terrance never felt that he wasn’t loved. He says his father had nothing to do with his homosexuality except possibly providing the DNA. Terrance states; "I've always known I was that way, since I was 3- or 4 years old, when I started getting crushes on other boys. My father didn't come out until I was 6," he said.
CASE STUDY 2
Rebecca Meiksin is a 22 year old heterosexual. Rebecca was adopted by gay parents in the 1980’s as the gay pride movement took off. When asked if her lesbian mother told her to follow in her footsteps, she stated; "I never felt any pressure to be gay."
FACTS:
• Most lesbians and gay men have heterosexual parents; the sexual orientation of a parent does not cause the sexual orientation of a child.
• It is increasingly understood that a range of factors determine an individual's sexuality, including genetic factors.
• A major study has shown that growing up with same-sex parents can actually help to confirm heterosexual identity.
QUESTIONS:
Do you think having the same sex parents affects the child’s sexuality?
Is Case Study One an example of Nature or Nurture? Why?
Does Case Study Two define Nature as its biggest aspect? Why?

same sex parents would have an impact on the children they adopt. children learn by what they see at home, children who see their father abuse their mother can have abuse issues later in their life. CHildren who live with parents of the same sex are likely to pick up or at least be impacted by those actions they grew up viewing.

Well, these studies show that it is not really the parents that impact on the childs sexuality, and the previous study suggests that it is a nature thing, with the brain haveing a more expanded area. What Terrance said, the provision of DNA, maybe the accurate answer, with nature being the core of sexuality.

I don't think it would affect children's sexuality, having same sex parents, but there may be other aspects of a child's characteristic and personality that could be affected. I think the 'worst' thing that could happen to a child with same sex parents would be that they would be more tolerant.
To be completely honest, I really don't think that sexuality is affected by the sexuality of people around you, except possibly in that if you -are- gay/bi, then being around other people who also are may help you to come out easier/quicker and accept it overall.

Sexuality is determined by nature, people can't help it if they are gay, lesbian etc. It's not a chioce they make. It's just the way they are.
So no I don't think same sex parents effects a childs sexuality. It may alter their perception of gay or lesbian couples but it won't determine whether they like guys or girls.
Case 1 is nature becuase his father was gay meaning there was probally some gentical connection.
Case 2 is nature and nuture. Her real parents may not have been gay and even though she was adpoted she is still hetrosexual. Her gay paretns never pressured her to be gay but maybe if they did it still would not change anything.
